Scope of Experience

Patrick Palmer is a Principal and Broker with NAI Columbia, specializing in retail and general commercial real estate across the Southeast. Before joining NAI Columbia, Palmer was President and Broker in Charge at IAP Company, a family-owned firm that has developed real estate in Columbia for over 50 years.

A member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) since 2000, Palmer earned the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 2006. He has served on several national committees and currently holds a seat on the CCIM National Board of Directors.

From 2003 to 2014, Palmer served on the Richland County Planning Commission, chairing it for six years. His outstanding transaction volume and velocity in leasing and sales have earned him the title of Retail Leasing Power Broker of the Year and Quarter multiple times, with his most recent recognition in 2023.

With over 24 years of experience, Palmer’s expertise includes landlord/tenant representation, site selection, land acquisition, disposition and development, buyer/seller representation, investment sales, and zoning and permitting.

Background & Experience

Patrick earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. He now serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Darla Moore School of Business, where he teaches Commercial Real Estate classes.
